When will more summer 2023 information be available?
Class offerings are now available for browsing. To view schedules, class descriptions and pricing, please Explore Classes and Camps. Registration will open on March 22 at 8:00 a.m. To receive updates regarding Summer 2023, please sign up for our email list.
What types of classes do you offer?
Our program was created to help students get a head start for the next school year, discover a new interest or passion, enhance their learning experience by filling in the summer learning gap, and reinforce concepts taught during the school year. Classes are project-based and designed to challenge students to discover new ways of thinking through problem solving and creativity.
Credentialed teachers develop curriculum, and classes are taught by IUSD teachers and IPSF-approved vendors.
Most classes are located on various IUSD campuses throughout Irvine. Class times and program dates offer flexibility – morning and afternoon schedules are available, and our 1-week specialty camps are a great option for families with a limited availability.
How do I enroll my child in classes?
We encourage you to take a moment to complete these steps to ensure that you are ready to register when classes open on March 22, 2023 at 8:00 a.m:
- Create/Update Account in our online enrollment system. If you have not taken IPSF ACE or Summer classes with us in 2022, please create an account on our new enrollment system. All users need to create a parent/guardian account and student profile.
- Manage Students to add or update a student to your profile (required for registration). Grade information should reflect student grade for the current 2022-2023 school year. Summer classes will be listed as the incoming grade for the 2023-2024 school year.
- Explore classes using filters such as class subject, location, day of the week, time of day, and more.
- If the class is open for enrollment, has seats available, and one or more of your students meet the grade requirements, you will see an orange button to “Add Class.” Click “Add Class” to add the selected class to your cart. If more than one student meets the requirements for the class, you will be given the option to select one or multiple students to add to the class and enroll.
- Once you have added all desired classes to your cart, complete the enrollment process by selecting “Checkout” and following the billing instructions to complete the checkout process.
- You will receive a confirmation email once payment has been processed.
How do I know my student is eligible?
There are age requirements for all summer programs. Please refer to the grade level placement guide below. For summer 2023, Pre-K students must be entering Pre-K (TK) in the fall and have a birthday between 9/2/2018 and 4/2/2019. Kindergarten (K) students must be entering kindergarten in the fall and have a birthday between 9/2/2017 and 9/1/2018. Students in an incorrect class will result in being dropped from the class and not receive a refund.
If I enroll in morning and afternoon classes, is there a lunch break?
How do I change or cancel a class?
Please see our Class Change and Cancellation Policy for instructions and deadlines.
Can students outside of Irvine enroll in IPSF Summer classes and camps?
Students who fit our age and grade requirements may attend in-person or online classes, no matter where they live. A non-refundable registration fee is assessed at the time of registration for out-of-state and international students.
Does IPSF work with my student’s IEP or 504 goals?
We do not work towards IEP or 504 goals, but are committed to serving students with disabilities. IPSF staff will work collaboratively with parents to determine reasonable accommodations. For additional information, please contact programs@ipsf.net.
Are scholarships available this summer?
Yes, scholarships will be available for both online and in-person classes for those who qualify. Deadline to apply is May 3, 2023
What system requirements are necessary to take an online class with IPSF?
Students should have the following internet access and hardware:
- DSL or Cable internet service – 1.5Mbps download/upload speed (per user)
- Computer with monitor/display, laptop, or tablet
- Keyboard, mouse, speaker, microphone, and webcam
- Printer
- Headphones are encouraged
What if my class gets cancelled?
If in-person classes can no longer be held, classes will transition to an online format during the same scheduled times if possible. Classes cancelled by IPSF prior to the start of the program will be refunded in full.
I am a classified or certified staff interested in working with IPSF this summer. How do I apply?
Thank you for your interest in employment with the Irvine Public Schools Foundation’s Summer program. Application information can be found on www.IPSF.net/summerjobs.
