My IPSF Summer Journey
From Curious Kid to Confident Student: My IPSF Summer Journey
Hi, my name is Avery, and I have been going to IPSF summer camps since Kindergarten. I love summer, but it can get a little boring after a few weeks of sitting around at home.
Every year, I look forward to trying something new. I’ve taken classes in LEGO engineering, creative writing, moviemaking, public speaking, cooking, and even marine science. These classes have allowed me to grow my skills and do things I am passionate about with other people who are enthusiastic about the same things. And you can come back year after year and do something completely different than before. There are so many options, with something fun for everyone.
But the best thing about IPSF camps is that you can have cool experiences that you might never have otherwise. You can perform in a show, write a book, or make a movie. Last summer, I took a class called Oceans that combines marine biology and junior lifeguards. You learn all about the ocean: the waves, pollution, and the incredible animal life below. My class went on a wildlife cruise and were lucky enough to see a blue whale. Did you know that less than 1% of the world’s population will ever see a blue whale in their lifetime? It was such an extraordinary and once-in-a-lifetime experience that I am so grateful to have had.
Now that I am going into high school, I can look back and see how much I’ve learned over the past 10 summers. IPSF has taught me how to lead, how to take on challenges, and how to turn curiosity into confidence. That’s something I’ll carry with me wherever I go.
IPSF Summer classes and camps are now open for registration, with programs for students of all ages and interests. Sign up today to give your child a summer filled with discovery, creativity, and unforgettable experiences!
