CUBESAT PASSES GAMMA-RAY TEST
October 1, 2016On September 24, Irvine CubeSat STEM Program teams visited the UCI Nuclear Reactor Facility to complete the next milestone on their journey to send their nanosatellite for space. The test exposed the cubesat’s electrical components to gamma-rays to simulate the conditions the unit will experience in low earth orbit.
We are thrilled to share that they passed with a 100% score on the very first attempt! Congratulations to the IRVINE01 team for their hard work and dedication to getting Irvine to space! http://www.ocregister.com/articles/irvine-730377-satellite-school.html
