CULVERDALE INNOVATION LAB BRINGS NEXT GENERATION LEARNING

March 15, 2017

We are excited to share that Culverdale Elementary School has opened the doors to its new Innovation Lab powered by IPSF. The new lab was made possible by a grant from IPSF totaling $211,850. The funding provided significantly needed resources to increase students’ access to 21st century learning. This milestone was achieved thanks to generous gifts to IPSF from The Hoag Foundation, Croul Family Foundation, and DKN Hotels.

The lab is designed to foster student-centered, problem-based learning, and provide technology spaces for a variety of projects and group work. In addition, it creates enhanced opportunities to explore Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics (STEAM) by providing an atmosphere that embraces intellectual risk-taking and the ability to learn from trial and error. Technology is integrated throughout the lab, including three types of robotics, green screen video production, coding lab, and zSpace AR/VR, designed to engage and inspire a passion for learning in students of all ability levels.
