IPSF TURNS 20!

IPSF TURNS 20!

October 15, 2016

Exactly 20 years ago, on October 18, 1996, Irvine Public Schools Foundation was founded. What started as a group of concerned parents wanting the best education for their children, has now evolved into one of the leading educational foundations in the nation.

Although many things have changed over the past 20 years, IPSF’s commitment to not only preserve enrichment opportunities for students, but continually enhance them for each child in every school, has remained unwavering.

We have been able to achieve this through our partnerships with the City of Irvine, Irvine Unified School District, PTA, parents, instructors, and local businesses, working together to sustain crucial programs for more than 33,000 students in 37 schools.

This year, our theme is 20 years of impact, in honor of the thousands of students, parents, teachers, and community members who have benefitted from the efforts of IPSF over the years. Since 1996, IPSF has racked up some pretty impressive accomplishments:

Awarded 701 teacher grants for classroom innovation, totaling over $1 million
Grown IPSF programs to serve over 15,000 students annually
Made music available to students beginning in Transitional Kindergarten
Funded additional teaching staff at all grade levels to decrease the size of learning groups
Exposed students to incredible opportunities through Science Fair, Honors Concert, CubeSat and school musicals
All told, IPSF has donated over $63 million to IUSD in grants and program support!!
THANK YOU for being part of our 20-year history and for joining us as we embark on our future. We look forward to what we can accomplish together over the next 20 years!
