STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts & Mathematics)
The purpose of IPSF’s STEAM Initiative (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) is to engage the Irvine community in STEAM education so that all students have extensive opportunities to develop high interest in science and related relevant subject areas, in line with next generation Science Standards and the Irvine Unified School District’s strategic priorities.
We seek to achieve this by supporting and offering programs that expose young learners to real-world applications and career exploration opportunities throughout their primary and secondary education, both inside and outside the classroom.
Students who are engaged in STEAM activities are more likely to thrive and succeed in school, and to pursue careers in STEAM fields.
STEAM CARNIVAL - 2016
On April 30,2016, IPSF hosted its 2ND Annual STEAM Carnival at The Market Place in Irvine. This family-friendly event provided students with fun, hands-on STEAM activities in a carnival atmosphere. Please keep an eye out for our 2017 STEAM Carnival. For more information please contact Cheryl Braun at email@example.com or 949-265-6415.
IPSF seeks to create mutually beneficial partnerships with Irvine’s corporate community, the Irvine Unified School District, parents, and other interested organizations to provide effective, sustainable experiential learning opportunities for Irvine students in the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM). Investment from corporate and community partners is critical to the success of IPSF’s STEAM Initiative. Thanks to a generous Challenge Grant for Education by the City of Irvine, donations to IPSF are matched 100%, doubling the impact of STEAM-related investments.
