IPSF SPECIALTY CAMPS
IPSF Specialty Camps give students the chance to dive deeper into their passions through hands-on, immersive experiences. From STEAM exploration and creative performing and fine arts to exciting culinary adventures, these camps are designed to spark curiosity and build real-world skills.
Our program was created to help students get a head start for the next school year, discover a new interest or passion, enhance their learning experience by filling in the summer learning gap, and reinforce concepts taught during the school year. Classes are project-based and designed to challenge students to discover new ways of thinking through problem solving and creativity. Credentialed teachers develop curriculum, and classes are taught by IUSD teachers and IPSF-approved vendors. Most classes are located on various IUSD campuses throughout Irvine. Class times and program dates offer flexibility – morning and afternoon schedules are available, and our Specialty Camps offer flexibility outside of the Session A & B format.
Students who meet our age and grade requirements may attend classes, no matter where they live. In order to maintain safety and create a positive experience, all students should have a basic understanding of English. It is recommended that students enroll in English Immersion classes or non-academic-focused classes including Art, Sports/Fitness, and STEAM if they are learning English. Please note your child’s English proficiency level on their profile. You may be asked to submit additional student verification documentation after the enrollment process. More information will be emailed to you if anything is needed.
A non-refundable registration fee is assessed at the time of registration for out-of-state and international students.
IPSF does not work with any outside groups or agencies who bring international students to Irvine. Agencies are not permitted to enroll on behalf of a family as all students must be enrolled by their parent/guardian.
All class and camp registrations are processed through our online enrollment system. To explore its features, check out our Enrollment User Guide. To ensure a smooth registration process when classes open, we recommend completing these three simple steps in advance:
- Create Account or Sign In to our online enrollment system
- Manage Students to add a new student or update an existing student profile with current schooling information (required for registration)
- Browse and click orange Add Class button to enroll in eligible classes. Classes can be filtered by grade level, program dates, location, and other criteria to help you quickly find available and appropriate options.
Note: If Add Class button is gray, you cannot add the class because either enrollment is not yet open, you are not signed in, or you don’t have an eligible student added to your account.
Unless otherwise stated, all classes with the same titles offered in different sessions or times of the day will be identical. We recommend that students enroll in different classes for the best experience in the program.
For elementary students enrolled in both a morning and afternoon class, teachers will walk those students to the lunch area to enjoy their packed lunch (lunch not provided). After lunch, students will line up according to their next class and their teacher will escort them to their assigned classroom.
If your student has any conditions that IPSF staff need to be aware of, please note this information in the “Critical Information” section of your student’s profile. For required documentation, please refer to the Health & Accommodations information. You will be contacted via email prior to the start of the program if further information is needed.
We do not work towards IEP or 504 goals, but are committed to serving students with disabilities. IPSF staff will work collaboratively with parents to determine reasonable accommodations. For additional information, please contact us.
Our classes are designed to group similar ages and levels together and all classes are for enrichment only. We do not allow students to enroll out of their appropriate grade/age level in order to maintain a positive learning environment. Students in an incorrect class will result in being dropped from the class and not receive a refund.
Please refer to IUSD’s grade level placement criteria below to find out your child’s grade level. For summer 2026, Pre-K students must be entering Pre-K(TK) in the fall and have a birthday between 09/02/21 – 09/01/22. Kindergarten (K) students must be entering Kindergarten in the fall and have a birthday between 09/02/20 – 09/01/21.
