Fore the Future: IPSF’s Tee It Up for Education Tournament

There are many ways to support education, but few are as fun as spending a day on the golf course with friends, community leaders, and champions for students.

On May 21, 2026, Irvine Public Schools Foundation (IPSF) welcomed 120 golfers to Strawberry Farms Golf Club for the 15th Annual Tee It Up for Education Golf Tournament. The sold-out event brought together civic, business, and education leaders from across Orange County for a day filled with friendly competition, meaningful connections, and a shared commitment to Irvine students.

Led by Tournament Chair Eric Tang of Corebridge Financial, the tournament raised more than $174,000, with matching support from the City of Irvine, to benefit all 45 Irvine public schools.

“IPSF is incredibly grateful for the tremendous support from our participants, sponsors, and the entire business community who continue to invest in the future of public education,” said Neda Eaton, President and CEO of Irvine Public Schools Foundation. “Their partnership and dedication help create innovative learning opportunities that empower students to succeed today and lead tomorrow. Events like Tee It Up for Education demonstrate the powerful impact our community can make when we come together in support of education.”

From the moment golfers arrived, the day was packed with memorable experiences. Participants were welcomed with premium headwear generously provided by Melin, helping everyone look tournament-ready before stepping onto the course.

One of the most popular highlights of the day was the return of students from Portola High School’s varsity golf team. Through a special tournament activation, golfers could make a donation and recruit one of the talented student-athletes to take their tee shot. The experience added a fun twist to the competition while showcasing the impressive skills of Irvine students and creating another opportunity to support education.

The event was made possible through the generosity of more than 40 sponsors and community partners, including AutoNation Toyota Irvine, Fifth Third Bank, Rainbow Rising, and Strawberry Farms Golf Club. Their support helped transform a day on the course into a powerful investment in local students.

While golfers enjoyed beautiful weather and a little healthy competition, the impact of the tournament reaches far beyond the fairways. Irvine Unified School District is consistently recognized as one of the highest-performing districts in the nation, yet it receives nearly $5,500 less per student each year than the national average. For the past 30 years, IPSF has helped bridge that gap by funding teachers and staff, supporting innovative programs, providing afterschool and summer enrichment opportunities, and bringing the community together in support of educational excellence.

To everyone who joined us on the course, sponsored the event, volunteered, or contributed to its success, thank you. Together, you are helping ensure that Irvine students have access to the opportunities, resources, and innovative learning experiences they need to thrive.

We can’t wait to see you on the course next year.
